www.NESProjects.com

I just made a new site called: www.NESProjects.com. This site has loads of mods and hacks for the old retro nintendo entertainment system! We have a collection of detailed how to guides on projects you can do with nes consoles, controllers, and even game cartridges! There are a couple of other projects i have to put up, so keep checking back for updates, or subscribe to be told when there are updates! We have loads of projects like the NES Guitar, Lunchbox, and alarm clock for the consoles, and projects like a controller mp3 player, controller tv remote, and even a wallet! I hope you come check out the site!! I hope to support the site with google adsense, so if you see an ad you like, click on it!

Here are some examples of projects that you find on the site (there are many more on the actual site!):

NES Cartridge Speaker

My favorite NES hack is the NES Controller MP3 player, and this NES game cartridge speaker would go perfectly with it. This hacks gives speakers a cool retro looking case, which still has quite a lot of portability (for speakers). What I like about this mod is that the cartridge has lots of space in it, so you don't need to buy special shaped or sized speakers for it unlike some hacks where if its a tiny bit larger, it might not fit.

NES Belt

The NES controller can be turned into a really cool retro style belt buckle! This is an awesome project to do because its easy, and you get a great looking belt after! Making it does not require any knowledge of electrical circuits or soldering at all. I like this project, because it allows the controller to still work, so you can still press all the buttons! But if you only have a broken controller, you could just use it as a belt.

NES Wallet

This is a really cool and easy hack, and does not require much time to make. This is one of the more useful projects compared to many others that just look awesome. I find it a bit too small to keep all the things I keep in my wallet (cards and notes), but I find it works perfectly for coins. From looking at the pictures, I thought it looked more like a purse for women, but after seeing it from different angles, I realized that it suites guys perfectly too.

NES Alarm Clock

This is probably my favorite hack that I've seen so far for the NES Console system. A guy put an alarm clock inside the case of an NES console. He made sure that the Power/Reset buttons on the console worked, and even connected a controller with fully funtioning buttons that change the time and the alarm. There was no detailed How To on this project, so most of it would be improvisation, depending on the items you personally have.

SNES Alarm Clock

This mod was made by the same person as the one who made the NES alarm clock hack. He was challenged by his room mate to do what he did with the NES, but on the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System). What i love about this mod is the fact that the cartridge can be removed. This means that when you eject the cartridge, the clock turns off, but when you put it back in, it turns back on. The controller is once again set to be able to control the alarm, and change the time. Again, it did not come with a detailed how to, so it depends on the clock you buy, and what you want it to do.
